Oops… I never wrote this post about our last day in Phoenix at the Science Olympiad Summer Institute.
This final day was pretty low key since the conference was scheduled to end at 11:30am. 
We decided to extend our stay by one day so I could relax and enjoy the resort with the family.
The best part of the day, however, was meeting up with the Morris family (not pictured: their daughter, who was at camp).

We first met at church over 10 years ago when we lived in San Diego. Our sons were best buddies when they were 3- and 4-years-old.
It was nice for them to join us at the resort for a bit and do some catching up. The boys seemed to pick up where they left off… it was awesome to see how much they had in common after all of these years! 
Although I had to juggle work and family, it was a good week in Phoenix. It’s always nice when we can combine a work and family trip. Being able to spend time old friends made the trip even more rewarding.
