I’m not gonna lie, it was a little difficult for me to sit in morning sessions at the Institute after our sunrise hike at Loveland Pass. Thankfully, our facilitators planned some interesting hands-on labs for us to do. We worked in teams to test water from different sources in the community.
Later in the morning, we participated in more interactive activities.
After lunch, we had had a mock townhall meeting. I played the role of “Concerned Parent”… I know, it was a stretch. I found this to be a very valuable exercise that I can use in my classroom with a variety of topics!
At the end of the townhall meeting, we were all given our certificates. I can proudly say that I’m a graduate of Keystone Science School’s Key Issues Institute!
